Mask Wraps
Like most goalies, we love to accessorize! A custom mask wrap is one of our favorite ways to personalize your setup while also adding an extra layer of protection to your helmet’s finish from pucks, sticks, and contact with the net.
Traditional airbrushing looks incredible, but it can be expensive and may crack or show wear over time. It’s also a much more permanent commitment. A wrap gives you the freedom to change your design whenever you want without permanently altering the helmet.
Custom airbrushing can easily cost $1,600–$2,000+, while a quality mask wrap will typically come in under $400, making it a much more affordable way to give your mask a completely custom look.
For growing goalies, changing teams, or anyone who simply likes switching up their style, mask wraps are a great option.

Mask Accessories
Your goalie mask takes a lot of abuse throughout the season, so keeping the small components in good condition is just as important as taking care of the shell itself.
Mask accessories and replacement parts can include cages, cage clips, straps, buckles, hardware, sweatbands, chin cups, and replacement padding. These parts can wear out, loosen, rust, or become damaged over time and should be inspected regularly.
Replacing worn accessories is also an easy way to freshen up the look of your mask. Different cage finishes, strap colors, and hardware can help tie your helmet into the rest of your setup without needing an entirely new mask.
Always make sure replacement parts are compatible with your specific helmet model, and never continue using a cage, strap, clip, or piece of hardware that is cracked, bent, loose, or damaged.

Finding goalie-specific equipment and replacement parts locally in Alaska can sometimes be difficult. These are some good places to start when looking for new or used goalie gear, accessories, replacement parts, repairs, and skate services.
Champions Choice Anchorage
Champions Choice in Anchorage is a hockey-focused pro shop with equipment, accessories, fitting assistance, and skate services. It is one of the more established hockey-specific stores in the Anchorage area. They Specialize in Goalie Gear Repair and modifications as well. A quick recommendation: Before replacing an expensive piece of goalie equipment because something small broke, check whether the strap, buckle, elastic, lace, cage, clip, knee block or other component can simply be replaced or repaired. Goalie equipment is expensive, and many problems can be fixed for a fraction of replacement cost.
Champions Choice is also a great local resource for goalie glove repairs, relacing, and pocket risers. This can be especially helpful if you want to repair or modify a glove locally instead of shipping it out of state.
For youth goalies especially, we also recommend checking fit before ordering online. Different manufacturers size goalie equipment differently, and a good deal isn't really a good deal if the equipment doesn't fit the goalie correctly.
Goalie Pad Accessories & Replacement Parts
There are a lot more goalie pad accessories and replacement parts available than many parents and players realize. Items such as replacement straps, toe ties, knee elastics, boot straps, knee wings, and other hardware can help keep a set of pads working properly without replacing the entire setup.
There are also accessories like knee-block risers and toe/boot risers that can help adjust how a pad sits on the leg. These can be especially useful for growing youth goalies who are starting to outgrow their current pads but may still be able to safely get some additional use out of them.
These accessories aren’t a substitute for properly fitting equipment, but in the right situation they can help improve pad positioning, comfort, and longevity while delaying the need for another expensive set of pads.
